How I Can Help

Relaxation

When we find ourselves facing stressful situations – meeting tight deadlines, dealing with difficult people or just trying to keep too many plates spinning – our sympathetic nervous system (responsible for “fight, flight or freeze”) acts like the accelerator in a car.  Our body is flooded with chemicals and we become mobilised and ready for action. This may be appropriate at times, perhaps when need to be focused, but if we react in this way whenever we feel overwhelmed or pressured – if stress becomes continual and prolonged – we start to exchange short term focus and energy for longer term health issues including headaches, high blood pressure, digestive problems and reduced immune function.

When this happens, we need to learn to apply the brake by activating our parasympathetic nervous (“rest and digest”) system and bringing ourselves back into balance.

There are many ways to do this – taking exercise is a great way to manage stress but so is learning to relax.  Do you need to take a bit of “me time” each day?  Why not complete the Contact Form and have a “no obligation” discussion to see how some simple techniques – including hypnosis and meditation – can help you to relax more?

Confidence Building

Confidence is a “priceless commodity”.  With confidence, it feels like we can take on the world and yet, situations, circumstances, health problems, age and negative inputs from significant others, can often rob us of self-belief and prevent us from living our “best lives” and realising our full potential.

All of us have things we enjoy doing that leave us feeling energised – leisure activities and perhaps even aspects of our work lives.  At the same time, we all have our “Achilles heel” – things that we don’t feel so comfortable with which may actually limit our lives in some way.  Examples may be giving presentations / speaking in public, striking up a conversation with someone new, applying for a new job or promotion but suffering with “interview nerves”…the list is endless!

If there are areas in your life where you feel a little “stuck” or just need a confidence boost, why not complete the Contact Form and have a “no obligation” discussion to see how I can help?

Smoking Cessation

People start and continue smoking for all kinds of reasons including peer pressure, wanting to look “cool”, rebelling, parents or family are smokers, wanting to appear more “adult” and stress relief.

The nicotine and 2000+ chemical compounds, including cyanide and arsenic, found in tobacco smoke are both addictive and deadly.  Smoking is known to cause heart disease, cancer and can negatively affect the body’s immune system.  Once it becomes a habit, smoking can be very difficult to give up.  You may have tried nicotine replacement treatments or good old-fashioned willpower in the past with varying degrees of success.

Hypnotherapy is widely regarded as the most effective form of treatment to help smokers quit – there are no side-effects and it is 100% safe.  Benefits include: better health and a potentially longer life; fresher breath and an improved sense of taste and more money to either save or spend.

If you’d like to quit smoking, why not complete the Contact Form and arrange a “no obligation” discussion to see how I can help?

Mindfulness

We live in a world full of “busyness” – always something to do or somewhere to be.  Juggling family, friends, hobbies and work can feel like a balancing act – at times the pressures can feel relentless.  Mindfulness meditation draws upon a heritage of almost 3,000 years and teaches a variety of practices that can provide an “oasis of calm” amidst the busyness of the day.

I offer an 8 week programme – either groups or on a one to one basis, or a 3 session “Mindful approach to managing stress and building resilience” programme.

I am licensed to deliver sessions under the “Mindfulness Now” banner and have an entry on the Mindfulness Teachers Register
