Working Together Online

Your Booking
When you make a booking, you will receive confirmation via email or text. At least 48 hours before your appointment, I will send you a text containing the link that you will use to connect to the online Zoom room where we will meet – this will be your reminder. If you need to postpone or cancel your booking, please let me know. There is no charge for cancellation with at least 48 hours’ notice.
See the Coaching Agreement for further information about this.
Technology
It is recommended that you use a computer or laptop or tablet to connect to the online room. The screen size on a mobile phone can be more challenging for many people. You will need a camera, microphone and speaker. Most modern devices have these built in and you should
test these are working in advance. You will need an internet connection that can handle video and audio streaming. Again, you should test this in advance.
If you want to achieve better sound quality (and give you more privacy), you may find it helpful to use headphones, earphones or earbuds.
Your Space at Home
Creating the right space will support you to get the most from our time together. If you live with others, it’s a good idea to use a private room where you won’t be disturbed. You could also tell those you live with that you will not be available during this time. You will benefit from being in a comfortable chair, preferably one that is fairly upright or partially reclined, like a dining chair or a small armchair, or even an office chair if you can be comfortable in it.
What to Wear/Bring
Because you are at home, it might be tempting to wear your pyjamas! I suggest you wear whatever you would wear if you were coming to see me in person. Loose, comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily are recommended. Some of what we do might involve you sitting still for a while, so ensure you have an extra layer or a blanket if you think you might get cold. You might also like to bring a warm or cool drink to have by your side, depending on the weather.
It is recommended that you have a notebook or journal to hand in case you wish to write anything down or reflect on your experience, during or after our time together.
What Happens If We Lose Connection?
When using any technology, sometimes things do go wrong – don’t panic! If this happens and you are in a meditative or hypnotic state, you can easily bring yourself out of that state. Simply by counting from 1 up to 5, taking a deep breath in and opening your eyes, you can feel fully awake and refreshed. You should then try to reconnect to the online room. If I drop out of the room, I will do the same. If either of us can’t reconnect within a few minutes, I will call your mobile number and we will agree the next steps, which may involve continuing over the phone or postponing the session.
I look forward to working with you.
